SOUND FORGE« 4.5 FEATURES Sound Forge 4.5 is professional sound editing software for Windows that includes an extensive set of audio processes, tools, and effects for manipulating audio. Combine Sound Forge with any Windows-compatible sound card to create, record, edit, and refine audio files. The clean interface and familiar Windows environment make editing fast and easy. Sound Forge now includes: Sonic Foundry's Batch Converter and Spectrum Analysis Plug-Ins Batch Converter saves time and alleviates the monotony of converting and processing numerous audio files. Thousands of files can be processed in a single batch. Any process, effect or tool in Sound Forge, or any DirectX plug-in, can be batch processed. Spectrum Analysis performs precise FFT analysis and displays the resulting data in two graphical formats. The Spectrum Graph allows real-time monitoring of playback or input while the Sonogram displays a playback cursor for real-time previewing. Both view options make it easy to navigate through data and read audio frequency and position. Multimedia and Internet Development Sound Forge supports a wide range of cross platform files and audio/video compression formats including Internet encoders. Adding audio to your Internet, intranet and multimedia projects is simple. Sound Forge supports NetShow 3.0, RealAudio/Video 5.0 and JAVA AU files. Sound Forge also allows the user to edit sound to image with frame accuracy by supporting Video for Window (AVI files.) Recording and Editing Music Sound Forge is loaded with system-defined presets and will also allow you to create and save your own. All processes and effects dialogs give you the ability to preview changes, as well as a bypass option for before and after comparisons. The Undo/Redo History can quickly restore your files to any previously edited stage. In Sound Forge you can create and give unique names to markers, loops, and regions. Drag any region to a playlist for non-destructive editing and arrangement within a sound file. Create, edit, or change sustaining and release loops for music samples in the real-time loop-tuning window. Transfer samples to an internal or external sampler via SCSI/SMDI or MIDI/SDS. Sound Forge generates stable MIDI time code in all standard frame rates. Sound Forge now fully supports Sonic Foundry's music creation software ACID. An array of new tools are now included for editing ACID loops quickly and easily. “ACIDize” your loops by permanently assigning root notes, number of beats and tempo. Loop editing has been simplified as well with new features for manipulating rhythmic audio. Broadcast Production Sound Forge includes dozens of high quality audio effects and processing tools. Time Compress/Expand can turn 33 seconds of narration into a 30-second spot without any pitch change, while choosing one of three equalizers - 10-band, paragraphic and parametric - ensures audio quality across systems. Graphic and Multi-band Dynamics can add fullness to the entire file or compress by frequency range. You can easily contour regions with Graphic Fade In/Out.
